Canoe Trip to Kalasaari
Kalasaari is an island located on the northern end of Lake Päijänne and is easily reached by canoe from Jyväskylä. On the island, you can find a wooden-heated sauna and a wooden pavilion with historical and cultural value. Kalasaari also offers the possibility of picking mushrooms and berries or swimming.

Lake Tuomiojärvi on Canoes or SUP-boards
About 3 kilometres from the city centre, Lake Tuomiojärvi is an ideal spot for canoeing or SUP-boarding. On our tour, we glide along the shore, taking in views of the surrounding forests and birdlife, with chances to stop at one of the many small islands for a break.
Even though the city is close, Lake Tuomiojärvi offers peace.

Snowshoeing in Laajavuori
Laajavuori is approximately 4 kilometres from the city centre and features various nature trails through the forest. The top of Laajavuori stands at 227 metres above sea level, allowing visitors to stop and admire the city, nearby woods, and lakes from above.
There are five ski jumping hills in Laajavuori, one of which is named after the Jyväskylä-born ski jumping legend Matti Nykänen. The Nykänen Hill is an important landmark for Jyväskylä and is beautifully illuminated at night.
